We know that when purchasing RAM,

Some of them has ECC or RECC label. Many users do not know what ECC and RECC is, so what does ECC mean?

ECC is an  abbreviation for "Error Checking and Correcting". ECC is a technology that can be used to implement "error checking and Correcting" on the RAM. It is generally used in servers and On the graphics workstation. ECC RAM keep the server stable not because it is fast but because it has special error correction capabilities.

The difference between ECC and RECC:

Functionally, ECC has special error correction capabilities to keep the server stable. R of RECC stands for register. In other words, RECC adds a register to the ECC, which greatly improves the RAM efficiency.

Is the ram compatible between ECC and RECC?

Usually, they are not compatible, you need to see if the motherboard supports, RDIMM can use RECC and ordinary memory, UDIMM can only use ECC, of course, if there are both RDIMM and UDIMM, then you can mix.
